NETSatisFAXtionIPPortServerleveragesyourexistingVoIPnetworktoallowyouruserstosendandreceivefaxes
fromtheirdesktopstransparently.Youruserscanalsocontinuetousetheirexistingfaxmachineswithoutthe
needforadedicatedextraphoneline.
AvailableClients
NETSatisFAXtionClient:TheNETSatisFAXtionfaxservercanconnecttothePortServertoprovideallthefeatures
ofaLANfaxservertousers,includingserver‐sideprintconversionandadditionaldesktopclientssuchastheClient
SuiteandMicrosoftFax.
MicrosoftFaxClient:Thisfaxapplicationshipswith
WindowsXPandVista(exceptthe“Home”editionsofVista),
andmaybedownloadedfromtheMicrosoftwebsiteforWindows2000.AMicrosoftFaxserverisalsoapartof
WindowsSmallBusinessServer,WindowsServer2003andWindowsServer2008.Aplug‐inisprovidedtoallow
both
ofthesetousethePortServertosendandreceivefaxes.Becausethisisbuiltintotheoperatingsystemit
hasaverylowsupportandmaintenanceoverhead.
FaxMachineClient:Thisstore‐and‐forwardserverenablesanySIP+T.38ATAdeviceorIADtosendandreceive
faxesvia
thePortServer.TypicallythiswillbeinstalledonaWindowsserveronthesamenetworkastheATA
device(s).
FaxOutClient:Thisclientprovidesavirtualprinterfordesktopconversionofdocumentsandattachesthemto
email.Theprinterdriverworkswithallemailapplications,simplyusingthesystem
defaultmailclient.
SDKClient:ThisclientprovidesapowerfulAPIforsoftwaredeveloperstocreatecustomfaxsolutions.
TheEffectsofConnected/DisconnectedClients
Mostoftheclients(excludingtheOutlookAdd‐in)maintainanHTTPSconnectiontothePortServer.Ifthatlinkis
notestablished(theclientisn’tloggedin)thenthePortServerwillreturna“busy”(486BusyHere)foranyfaxesto
thatclient’sassociatedDIDs.
